The Community Foundation «Podilska Hromada» implements initiatives in various areas: infrastructure restoration, social support, and establishing dialogue between the government, business, and the public. Each project addresses a specific need of the Vinnytsia community.
Infrastructure and restoration
- «Strengthening the capacity of educational and employment institutions: new opportunities for people with disabilities» made it possible to renovate the premises of the Vinnytsia Interregional Higher Vocational School and the main hall of the Vinnytsia Regional Employment Center. Now people with disabilities can study and look for work without barriers — both physical and psychological. Implemented with the support of UNDP in Ukraine.
- «Your Children's Space»: seven rooms for rest and play were created at the Vinnytsia Regional Children's Clinical Hospital and the Vinnytsia Regional Children's Rehabilitation Center. This was done so that the hospital would not be associated only with pain and tears, but also with play, comfort, and a homelike atmosphere. Implemented with the support of ISAR Ednannia, the «People for People» program.
- «Hydrants»: The Community Foundation «Podilska Hromada» purchased 10 hydrants, which were placed in public places in the Vinnytsia community in case of emergencies.
- «The Harvest Path» is a project aimed at strengthening food security. For residents of Vinnytsia communities, it provides financial support to owners of private plots to strengthen home ownership or develop their own businesses.
Education and medicine
- «Stronger Together»: a grant competition for medical and educational institutions in Vinnytsia, which enabled the implementation of 22 projects — from psycho-emotional support to new opportunities for patients and students. The focus is on ensuring that people working in these areas have the resources to support themselves and others.
- «Be brave to know»: a project implemented in partnership with the Podil Regional Oncology Center, aimed at raising awareness among residents of the Vinnytsia community about early diagnosis of cancer.
- «The power of communication»: a project that improved the knowledge and skills of representatives of rehabilitation institutions (Vinnytsia Regional Clinical Medical Rehabilitation Center for War Veterans and Vinnytsia Regional Medical Center for Rehabilitation of Children) in terms of the strategic vision of institutions, crisis and effective communications, and writing project applications, and also included a series of measures to increase the visibility and influence of institutions.
Authorities – Community
- «Together»: aimed at strengthening the synergy between «authorities and community». As part of the project, synergistic workshops were held to develop joint initiatives for the development of the Vinnytsia community, in which more than 60 representatives of the Vinnytsia City Council departments and civil society institutions took part. As a result, joint (government-community) advocacy projects were implemented.
- «From Needs to Action»: an initiative that involved researching the key problems and needs of the Vinnytsia community, as well as the level of trust in non-profit organizations, businesses, and local government bodies. In addition, the project included communication meetings with representatives of city-council departments and NGOs.
- Integration and communication meetings, which the Foundation regularly holds between Vinnytsia City Council departments and NGOs.
