The five winners of the eighth iteration of the «Urozhaynyy shlyakh» project received certificates to implement their initiatives and are moving on to the practical phase. Each of them has a clear plan for developing their own farm. As Myroslava Zhylina, the Program Director of the Community Foundation «Podilska Hromada», noted during the certificate presentation, the selection committee evaluated motivation, the justification of expenses, participation in training, and the realism of the planned results; therefore, behind each application lies not just a specific story, but decisions that will help strengthen the financial stability of households as early as this season.
A brief overview of the winners:
Olena Karpenko moved to the Vinnytsia community from Kharkiv in 2022. Today, she rents a home with a plot of land and is gradually setting up her own farm. Thanks to the grant, she will be able to install a greenhouse, set up an irrigation system, and plant fruit trees — this will allow her to provide her family with her own produce regardless of external circumstances.
Yaroslav Lynnyk has two greenhouses, but difficult soil conditions make it hard to cultivate the land. The support received will allow him to purchase a motorized cultivator and install an irrigation system. In the future, he plans to use this equipment not only for his own farm but also to help other community members.
Olena Smirnova cultivates a plot in the village of Lukashivka. For her, working the land is not only a source of food but also a way to unwind after a workday. Installing a greenhouse will reduce dependence on weather conditions and extend the growing season.
Svitlana Zaborovska is directing the grant funds toward solving a water supply problem. Building a well will be a significant solution not only for her household but also for her neighbors, who will also use the resource.
Ruslan Rybanyuk has been gardening for several years and is systematically developing his farm. As part of the project, he plans to install an automated agricultural module in the greenhouse to control irrigation and ventilation. This will help optimize processes and use time more efficiently.
Project implementation will continue throughout the season. The Community Foundation «Podilska Hromada» will monitor the results and share the stories of participants in the eighth iteration of the «Urozhaynyy shlyakh» project, initiated by The National Network of Local Philanthropy Development (NNLPD) with support from the Robert Bosch Stiftung in partnership with community foundations.
The project aims to support food security and the financial resilience of households. In Vinnytsia Oblast, the project is being implemented for residents of the Vinnytsia, Yakushynets, and Luka-Meleshkivska communities. Information about new selection rounds is published on the website and official pages of the The Community Foundation «Podilska Hromada». So stay tuned for updates.
